This is a movie which is made to look like a documentary. It is fictional.
The movie is NOT real. I mean I supposed things like this could happen if you believe in such but this particular story is not true. Rossi was just a VERY mean 17 year old girl who murdered her neighbor. Google her.

I looked it up before the movie was even in theaters. the girl was not involved in a exorcism, she was from the united kingdom, and was a teenager along with her accomplice, she was only 17 and had no children and was married. She also was a druggie and drunk. The depiction in the movie is her as an american and in her late 20′s or 30′s with a daughter and husband. All wrong.
What do you search on google? When I typed in Isabella Rossi it came up with a bunch of movie stuff.

usually its the most religious people who get possessed,idk y its kinda contradicting but its what i read. But what i did notice is when the priest commited suicide his face was still intact. When suicide is commited by a gun in the mouth whether a pistol or rifle the teeth will b missing from pressure and the jaw will b detached and hanging if not gone completely along with some brain matter and a hole in the back of the head and throat. . Ben and Michael drag Isabella into the hallway and restrain her on the floor. Ben tells a nurse that he is a priest, and then Ben and Michael leave with Isabella in a car, heading to the church. While driving, Isabella regains consciousness and struggles in the back seat before strangling Michael, though Ben is able to pull her off before Michael is killed, but not before injuring him enough to weaken him. He instantly shows signs of possession, and the accelerator can be heard as they speed into oncoming traffic, head on into another car. The camera goes black, and cuts in with short sequences of chaos, most likely of the vehicle flipping and being slammed around as a result of impact

I saw the documentary , which isnt a movie but to be honest yes possessions are real & if there is something out there only the people who go through it. i have tried to do research on the subject but i keep coming up with different stories on every page. the story might be real but the movie itself was a fake . there is no way in the world the vatican which is the richest land owner of the world would allow for a movie like this to come out. which states that the vatican denied excorsisms on people. they wouldnt let it happen .. in my opinion this is another “paranormal activity”
in the case that this is a real story we need to realize that the excorsim they did on the character rosa her mother would of reacted some way in seeing a camera and pure strangers around her daughter … in my opinion it was a movie with a sopranos ending . it just ended giving no information …

My step mother was convinced I was possessed and led her own exorcism when I was 13. It was the most miserable terrifying experience and I still have the constant fear that my father and my stepmother were right and that the devil will eventually take over my body. Mind you nothing happened during the exorcism. If anything she was the one that appeared possessed. All I did was pray and when she was speaking in this foreign languag (speaking in tongues, they are Pentecostal ) she tried to force her hand on me and was not able. Wether because of awkward physics due to the dimensions of my room at their home or due to divine interference. She called it failed and I called it a brush with death or a menal institution. The church is absolutely right to inspect each possession thoroughly before subjecting someone to that. I am an empath. I see what others don’t. That doesn’t mean I have a demon dwelling inside. And in the movie, priests are not possessed if they are legit. No one can meet that fate unless they allow it inside.

so my take on the whole story is that the movie is fake but the story is real. you can search maria rossi and find that she was a troubled teen who had killed an old woman. she was 17 when this happened. she COULD have been possessed by satan and many other demons as early as this (look up nicola aubrey for example of multiple possession) but in the videos on this site, she is obviously older. this gives her time to have isabella. the demons had never left. they had been jumping from maria to isabella in these videos. which also explains how all the possessed people from the movie knew isabella. i know that what i am saying may not make much sense by reading it, but i honestly have no idea what im typing anymore… it makes sense in my mind

As for the movie, it was fake, the events depicted were based on a true story and real events. As for religion. There is God and there is Satan. Along with Satan is his demons, who want nothing more than to pull you away from God. Demonic possessions are real. Demons are real. So many hints in this movie show that it is indeed fake, the movie itself that is. For instance, when David shot himself in the head. There was fake blood and etc….but no exit wound through the back of the head. A gunshot wound through the mouth isn’t pretty and would leave the victim more mangled than what was depicted from the film. Another example is the last scene of the collision. It appeared to be a head on collision. From the cameras in the car, for the most part all three of them remained in place where they were seating. From such an impact that car would have been crushed and bodies torn. From a critic point of view, I found the movie entertaining, being one who loves horror films. Hell of a lot better than the Paranormal activities…no pun intended.

okay so, to any of you guys that think that what you saw in the theater were the actual events, you have been fooled. they were based on real events. how closely? im not sure. however, those of you who are arguing the validity of the video footage you saw and are arguing whether the “possessions” portrayed in the film were real, are wrong as well. all of the footage in the film was obviously staged. the events this was based on, however, is questionable. i would like to do more research to form my hypothesis on how accurate the film depicted the events that took place. if they took place at all.
So I am a graphic designer. It is very easy to “fake all that crazy”. That cracking noise you heard was a sound effect of someone cracking their fingers. You can alter noises, make them louder, you can do anything with them. As for the bending, look at all of the people who were bending, they were all some form of contortionist. They all had the same body type. Don’t freak yourself out. Seriously if it were real then like everyone I know would be.
And no again this story isn’t true. The actors in the movie were acting. The lady playing the role of Maria Rossi is named Suzan Crowley. Yes it is possible to “ACT” insane for a movie. Because their getting paid to do it.
But just because this movie isn’t true. Doesn’t mean these events can’t happen. It all depends on ur religion and what you believe in.

What I don’t understand at all is WHO says the Vatican isn’t doing their part? I don’t understand where that comes from? Is it because of this fake movie of real events? Look up the exorcism of Nicola Aubrey. God ALLOWED 30 deamons to possess this woman to show the non believers what is actually out there, and what can actually happen. It took 3 months to expell all of these deamons from her and at one point, Beelzebub had paralyzed one of her arms and one of her legs, upon leaving and returning.

crazy weird movie, no way its real people! the body movements and what not can definitely be done with CG. The ending was pretty abrupt and weak, but definitely worth a watch. its kinda funny at times when the demons speak, and definitely will make you cringe, but not really a “jumpy” scary movie

If you click on Ben’s link, you can see a video where he confesses that his uncle had terminal cancer and “he helped him end his suffering.” I am guessing it’s along the same lines as Maria’s abortion, since killing is one of the most detrimental sins one can do.
The priest was unworthy because he assisted his uncles death. His uncle had cancer and he was in pain. Its in one of the videos on the site.

if you watched in the very last scene it showed the priest in the front seat with the seat belt wrapped around his neck and the other two were in the back seat of the car. so im guessing that the two in the back might have been unconscious.
well I believe that as well if there is God for sure there are demons, but this movie didn’t impress me in any form whatsoever, reason number 1 this so called “priest” referred being a priest as a job.. I don’t believe that any priest would consider it that way they would probably called it “calling” or anything of that nature. reason number 2 the cameras in the of that movie damn it was intact.. and still recording.. She could have fallen out, the car’s door could have fallen off in the crash. And this was a real case. The events were all based on a true story.

As far as exorcisms go, there is a time and place for everything. Yea, demonic possessions happen, but as the movie states, first one must rule out mental illness. Great depictions of exorcism.
Plot line, so David was transferred to, as was Isabella during the mom’s exorcism. I think Isabella ended up with 2 before transferring to michael. I think David was clean the entire time. Crazy eyes on possession of all 3
I assumed David was possesed after completing Rosa’s exorcism. The one on Maria initiated the vulnerability on Isabella, leading to a transfer. Then ending with Michael’s possesion and murder/suicide.

David and Isabella were both possessed when the exorcism occured on Maria Rossi, both had significant changes in attitude right after. Maria had 4 demons in her, at least 2 of them transfered out one to david and one to isabella. They were fine up until that point.
David then tries to kill a baby and comes home to blow his brains out. either his demon transfered to isabella then granting her two or she actually got two from maria and one of those were transfered to michael, who “ends things”
I think that David’s possession began to manifest itself when the blood started dripping from his nose. I first noticed that the Isabella character was off when she filmed the video rant about Michael.
I read a book about exorcisms a while back and it said that demons are able to possess multiple people at once. They can bilocate.

I just saw this movie opening night. SOOO SCARY! My dad is a minister and he has performed exorcisms. They are very real. I have seen a man who was possessed. It is a very real, very scary thing to see. This movie scared the crap out of me! I want to know more!
Only Catholic Priests are allowed to perform excorsims, it even says so in the Bible. Any one else performing an exorcism is a sinner, and it wouldnt work if it wasnt a catholic priest in the first place.
If a minister attempts to perform an exorcism, it would basically be a regular person saying a prayer over an inflicted person. Only priests can gain permission from the Church to perform a “legal, correct” exorcism.

Then my step mother looked like the devil himself couldn’t touch me and launched herself into the hallway to walk back in asking if I felt better and why did I throw her into the hall. It is POSSIBLE that something happened in an exorcism that he had done before and he ran into a certain demon, maybe even the one that possesed that girl that they exorcised. I agree with Peter. I think it was the devil too, considering David mentions that they were speaking with “the beast” which is a common reference for the devil. He also seems freaked out and says “We were lucky.” They did also hint that it was satan and three disciples making up a total of four inside of Maria.

Crazy insane movie, scared to be alone now…or in the dark. Annoying girls in the theater took away from some of the awesomeness, but still great. I really wonder how much of the movie is true, not like the plot or anything but like the school for exorcisms and stuff.

To the best of my knowledge while some of this may be inspired by true events Maria Isabella etc never lived nor was there a car accident in Rome in Dec in 2009. A) clause at the end of the film credits said it was fictional. B) The school for exorcism in the Vatican does not look like that and they would never allow a non sanctioned camera. It was still a scary film but hated the end, hope they let us know what happens- even if I have to pay for another movie ticket

Second, David, Michael, and Isabella were all possessed. David became possessed when the camera’s went off for a second during the evaluation. Michael became possessed in the car, and I don’t know how Isabella became possessed. But you could tell she was when she said something about Michael’s mother.
I believe in demons and exorcisms and I just loved the movie. It’s only truly scary if you actually believe in these things.

Real or fake, it was an awesome movie. I love when movies portray realistic events, and I definitely believe in the paranormal. I liked the 1st exorcism scene where the girl was contorting her body on the bed, that shit is crazy! Scary movies are my favorite and I really liked ‘The devil Inside’. So he must have killed him in a mercy killing, and the devil played on that to get him vulnerable so it could possess him. When you’re vulnerable and feeling guilty, you aren’t giving your sins or transgressions to god, which makes your faith not as strong, which opens the door. David was made vulnerable by Rose’s demon who came on to him and said “you’ve fantasized about it”. The movie was obviously fake. Good acting but there is no way they would actually release real footage of such nature for public viewing. Thou it seems based on either a real story or a collaboration of real stories I am positive any real film from the exorcists and the filmmaker would have been collected as evidence by the police and by now would probably have been either sealed away or destroyed. Ok so what I get from it also from the footage of Isabella on this site as a child. Is that the mom was possessed for a while. But it seems like when the mom was at a normal state the demon would go into Isabella. I got that from the video on here where she was singing a song in another language.
Now to the movie. Isabella became vulnerable to the demon when she let it get to her about the abortion she had. David became possessed when they were performing the exorcism on Maria. Where he became vulnerable is when he said, “I think we are doing the right thing” in his confessional. Isabella was possed near after. I believe she was possed by two demons. 1) when she spoke into the camera about Micheals mom cheating. Then she became possed by the second demon as soon as David killed himself. I believe that because she wasn’t in the car after the wreck. Micheal became possed obviously in the car when Isabella touched him. As far as Ben I think he was very strong willed but I think that he was involved or witnessed the uncle die in an exorcism gone bad. He probably feels like he could have helped or something. But I honestly thinks that the demon that possed Maria had been going in-between her and Isabella since the beginning.
But anyway that’s just my opinion. Overall is was a good movie but I was disappointed with the ending. I do believe it was a reenactment but it was good overall. Was expecting something more intense tho. (shrugs)

This Documentary was well done. Yes, the footage is real, it wasn’t like a normal Hollywood movie because you could see everyone setting up the equipment. You don’t see people setting up camera equipment in movies like Transformers or G.I. Joe, so this stuff actually happened somewhere in this world.
Demons are real, and just because they caught this on film, they had to release it as a “fake” movie so it wouldn’t cause mass hysteria. Imagine if you saw this footage on Fox News or something, people would go crazy. So they released the movie as a “fake” so people could prepare.

It says at the end of the movie that it was fictional. It is a fake documentary. It might have been inspired by true events, but everything in the movie was reenacted. The directors of this movie were NOT the same as from paranormal activity. Both movies were Produced by Paramount Pictures to be such big releases, but they were shot and directed completely independently and separate of each other.

Great movie! Looking forward to more like it. Love the foreshadowing at the class about multiple demonic possessions and the transference. I think the demons all transferred at when the cameras all flickered with the mother and one disciple stayed with the mother, disciple went to Father David, disciple went to Michael, and the main demon, who I’m think is Satan himself went to Isabella. I think it is Satan because when Father Ben asked who he was his response was “everyone knows me”. Whether you believe or not, everyone knows of Satan. Very happy with movie!

At the end the demon from Isabella transferred to Michael when she grabbed him, hence Isabella returning to normal. After the transfer the demon acted immediately and killed himself and the rest of the people in the car.

So the three to worry about in the end, We already know Isabella is possessed, and that there are signs of FATHER BEN RAWLINGS being possessed, after Isabella touches The camera man, he seems to be possessed. I loved this movie! It’s morning already and I haven’t fully recovered from the scares from last night. The actors were great as well, I was very sad for Isabella, but I’m hoping she survived and we have a sequel to know the rest of the story.
I loved this movie!!!! My husband and I saw it last night and It made us realolly think about the fight of good and evil or God vs. the Devil. I reallly don’t care if it was fake or not. The point of this movie was to show us that this is real and can happen to anyone at anytime and any place. Even if the movie was fake, it was incredibly good acting and very awesome effects. I was latched onto my boy-friend the entire time because I was scared shit-less. Really, the point probably is to show that these things do happen every single day, and that these types of demonic beings do exist in real life, and that anything can happen. And if it was real, and the documentary just ended like that, we’re never going to find anything else out, unless Isabella did escape and she gets caught by someone else and put in an asylum or insanity place like her mother was. All in all, it was an incredible movie and I cannot wait to own it on DVD. I want to be able analyze it more and understand what really happens. Like I knew David and Isabella were possessed from the time Isabella was screaming about her “fucking keys”, and even before David was drowning the baby I knew he was going to do that. I so called it. But like I said, an incredibly good documentary, real or fake. It makes you think.

I liked the movie, however Im not sure if I believe the true events part. I’ve searched and searched to find a legit article on the actual Maria Rossi or some pictures of her, but to no avail. It boggles my mind that most excorsism cases are out if Italy. Why? The holiest city for Roman Catholics is in the middle of Itlay…Italians are devout catholics. They believe in god!! So, why are they the most possessed? Could they be more vulnerable due to their strong beliefs? How do we know excorsisms are real? SEE TO BELIEVE…..

The movie was not so great in the ending, but the story reveals that Maria Rossi passed her “demons” to her daughter and then the two priests. The files are probably not revealed as much because the vatican wants to hide it. It’s no different than other religions…… always hide the truth. Plus being Italian has nothing to do with it. I am not talking about the movie, but about a demonic presence in a person, I’ve seen it… I was young I wasn’t in the room it self, I watched everything fromt he outside…It was inside a church, the man came in saying he was praying and when one of the elders of the church came and started talking about God, things got crazy. How you see people move in this movie, well what I saw was worse….He started to talk in different languages and there were about 7 different voices that would go louder claiming their names…There was a young boy there too, and I recall hearing a conversation among them two…That boy went missing for 3 days. My older brother was the first to see him, he says he was all in black and his eyes were white, he went up to him and the boy pushed him to the wall, they were standing in the middle of the street and this guy with ONE push send my brother to the wall of a house…
My mother talks about a young girl who was said to have a demon inside, she tells me that she saw this girl up in the ceiling using her nails to maintain her self there…

Saw the movie today and thought it was great.Obviously these are actor portrayals of actual events.Such as the 911 call and the fact that a couple of the people involved in the telling of the actual events played themselves in the movie.Check out the credits. Also the movie The Rite also tells the story of real exorcisms and the actual priests from that story are still practicing.One in Chicago and the other in Rome.The school to train exorcists does exist and each diocese has it’s own exorcist.As someone stated earlier there is no way they would allow actual footage of this case to be shown here except for interviews of the people that play themselves in the movie.

Exorcisms are real but the content in this movie was completely Fake. All you gotta do is look up the names of the cast and you will see they have been acting in other shows or movies. the story MIGHT be based on a true story but i doubt it.
When I was younger I dated an Italian girl, let’s call her “Gloria”, her family all from the old country.
She had a cousin “Linda” that never had any issues and suddenly went, well, crazy. Linda was beautiful but had a super religious family with one aunt a nun and an uncle a priest. That was the pious side of the family. Gloria had been close with Linda but grew apart during Linda’s crazy period, coincidentally when we started dating.
Anyway, I heard Gloria’s family tell stories about Linda and, frankly, most sounded to me like she just had grown up and got a little boy crazy. I thought her family was a bunch of religious zealots that were getting freaked about their daughter trying to assert herself as a young woman. So when I heard whispers of demonic possession, I just thought they were all nuts.
But then Linda tried to commit suicide. I had never met her before and prior to the suicide attempt I thought the stories about her were a little racy and even sexy. It seemed so completely crazy to think about possession. I thought the parents were playing up the possession because they were trying to explain and rationalize the suicide attempt, to themselves and to the rest of the devout catholic family.
I went with Gloria to the hospital to see Linda. Linda’s parents were there but were so relieved to see us that they left the room to get coffee and let us talk.
Linda’s hair was matted down and she was pale but she still was still a beautiful girl. She had auburn hair with hazel eyes and full lips and a slim frame. I keep telling myself how attractive she was because I still want to believe that was all it was: male hormones and pretty girl. But it was different.
Linda had been half asleep before we came and she immediately perked up when we entered. She was almost happy to see Gloria but then froze when she saw me. She watched me no matter where I went. Whatever small talk there was, she just looked at me. Not like she was flirting, but like she was sizing me up. Like a victim. I wasn’t creeped out. I was mesmerized. That is when the real creepy stuff started to happen. The stuff that still scares me. When the demon inside her spoke to me and told me things.
Anyway, no one will ever understand what happened in that hospital room between us. But the movie is both fake and real. Real because possessions are true. Fake because it is not like that. Possessions and exorcisms are much more personal, but they can’t show that on screen.
So this movie reminded me of too much.

Linda freaked out Gloria and me and ended up splitting us up. It was a whole lot of good riddance on my part.
I went from being completely in love with Gloria to being disgusted by her. And she was disgusted by me. Linda made us grow to hate each other.
that’s what demons do, they make you doubt and hate.
so at first Gloria and I consoled each other after that first day but we soon started arguing. She went back to see Linda on her own and it got worse. Gloria started accusing me of things and doing things. Gloria changed. She became nasty and started to tear into me every chance she got. and then get me back by being honey sweet. the back and forth drama escalated into all sorts of weird stuff. And Gloria grew closer and closer to Linda. When Linda got out, the two became inseparable and, well, just plain evil.
I couldn’t keep up. I just left. I heard Gloria had been kicked out of her parents house and Linda was in and out of psych wards. They left town and I have no idea about anything any more. and don’t want to know.
IDK, I do know that people can be demon possessed HOWEVER, the problem I have with all of these movies, (I mostly go see them for enjoyment) is this: WHY THE HECK! does the priets NEVER have any power! C’mon somebody agree with me. Christians typically do not lose against the DEVIL! I have seen many people possessed with a demon and WE have CASTED them out according to the scripture in the BIBLE Mark 3:14-15, Mark, 1:39, Luke 11:14. Just a few to verify that we don’t TALK to the DEVIL toget his name we CAST him OUT and the people LIVE!!! I just saying!

I happen to know that both the old and new testament of the holy bible does in fact mention passages dealing with God and Jesus performing exorcisms on demon possessed individuals. Case in point when Jesus exorcised I believe to be a total of seven demons from the body of Mary Magdalen.

They only say that it is based on real events because they took the name Maria Rossi from an incident that happened in 1989 and they twisted it into a version of their own story. The real Maria Rossi, 17, and her friend killed their elderly neighbor. They strangled her with a dog chain and cut her face with a knife and then opened eggs on top of her body and tried to scalp her.
Sounds f*cked up, so this is probably why the writers used her name and tried to grab peoples attention by saying its based on true events.

David was never possessed up until the time he was killed in the car crash.
Ben was possessed when the cameras flickered during Maria’s exorcism.
Isabella was possessed also when the cameras flickered, or could’ve been since she was a child, along with her father. She stated her father told her 20 years later about the exorcism of her mom and three days later he died. Coincidence? Up to you, but she showed early stages of possession when she talked about Micheals parents and being crude about their problems.
Micheal was possessed when the demon in Isabella transferred himself to Micheal and crashed the car.

Well for starters, likemost of you on here…….this movie was awesome. It even threw in the back breaker from paranormal activity 3- also another good movie in my eyes. Anyways, the adolescent and naive part of me believes that this may have actually happened. Now obviously my better judgement will take over, but there is always that unkowing and that presence deep inside the back part of your mind, body, and soul that tells you to believe in the most outrageous and ridiculous. Many events in history have shown small proof of the things that are possible in this universe, and some of which are of the unexplained. I for one am interested in those things that can’t be explained.
The movie was clearly a movie but with each movie not just this one is based on some true events…these are stories put into light on camera for our eyes to see instead of read about it. exorcisms have been around for a very long time but who is to know if they are real or not! all I know is from my own experience with dark entities or demonic whatever you want to call it. so i guess until seen you will never know if real!

I just saw the movie. I’ve seen plenty of movies and documentaries about exorcisms and possession. But I have never felt so unnerved and scared as I am now. I don’t know why it affected me like this. Very powerful movie.

So I’ve been doing some research about possession and all of that, and I’ve noticed that in most cases, females are the victims of possession. I’ve tried looking for an answer as to why this is but there never is a definite answer. I wonder if it’s because women are more vulnerable than men, maybe because women are more dramatic, I guess that would be the word to use. Or because of our “motherly” nature makes us more vulnerable? I’m not sure. But I’ve noticed this and was wondering if anyone has a sensible answer or would like to express their theory as to why females are more prone to possession.

Although I do not believe this movie is truly inspired by “real” events, I do believe in exorcism, or atleast demonic possesion. It even mentions in the bible men and women being possesed. One man was possesed by so many demons he was exiled from humanity and only Jesus could save him, which he did. Whether you believe in it or not that is what it says. The movie was deffinatly an original and not a mere copy like so many others. I enjoyed it all-in-all. I do feel it is left sort of open-ended and kinda hope a part two comes out!

The true events are nothing that you think. Yes there are possessions but the events in this movie are just Hollywood made situations to get us to pay them more money. The true story is about two 17 year olds that hanged a elderly woman by a dog chain and from what I heard and read was stabbed 86 times by a stanley knife. They claim it is, but it’s very easy for directors to claim something is ‘based off a true story’ and change it up completely. It’s like the movie “The Strangers”, where they used the Cabin 28 killings and the Czech Republic murders.
Maria Rossi was a real person, however, her story is almost completely irrelevant to this entire movie. They may have just gradually taken her name and a tiny bit of her story, or they may have used a different name. Who knows?

I personaly dont beleaive in god but i do beleave that this movie is real i do beleave in possessions and that there are demons that do it ive seen multiple movies about this i have read alot about it i have researched it a bit online i beleave this case is true and that the roman catholic church needs to get involved in it and involved in these cases all together its riduclouse how they only do exorcisms if the priest knows they are well like they said in the film its almost impossiable to tell if your possessed.

The ending was actually really good if you think about it, and got a few references (my girlfriend pointed them out and they blew my mind). When the first girl Rosa is exorcised, she’s healed (because their was a regular demon in her). But Isabella and Maria exorcisms fail because it’s not just a regular demon but the devil himself, and that’s not just an assumption based on the title. But if you listen to the last few scenes closely, when the devil is speaking through Isabella he says “Of course you know me, everybody knows me”. Who else would it be?

So, I’m a paranormal Investigator and #1 this movie is based on a true story, in fact, the same story as the original exorcist movie was based from, the exorcism of Ronald Doe #2. Being a Paranormal Investigator, I’ve met demonologists, (John Zaffis even, look him up if you’re interested in demons and such) and a few exorcists, and seen an exorcism. Thing about exorcism is (and even the exorcist says this) is that 99% of the time it can be, and is a mental disorder. The ritual is still done in the hopes that a placebo effect would take place.

In the garden, tnats when our relationship with God failed God it’s perfect, He can not look on sin, this is why Jesus came. God loves us so much He wants with Him.

This is a personal relationship with Jesus. About love. Yet, demons exist and you can be sure they have been their from creation. Threats why they speak on ancient languages, know things. There is a spirit world we can not see but if we could put on special glasses you would probably sure within a minute of the evil… Yet, I have to say you could see angels as well. Angels protect us. There are many,.many with demons.. There’s the Bible, God’s word to use to fend off the devil. If you read the situ of Jesus you will find out that is what He did every time the devil tempted Him..the devil, satan himself fled. You need not fear if you have His word, and believe… Ever.
note the priest on the movie and others they didn’t have the sweet spirit of the Lord, I didn’t see them honoring their bodies ..the temple of God as you noted they smoked, varied on, used filthy language so they had a gate way for evil to easily enter. I believe it can happen that fast esp when such daemons are there and no one I saw had the fruits . You see Jesus days you will know then by their fruits. He also said after an exorcism if that person does not turn their lives over to Christ then 7 mor demons will enter even more powerful. If you paid attention nothing was mentioned concerning the mother but they didn’t let her return to the US etc, I would guess she became possessed again by 7 times the number already there.
I didn’t want to see this movie at all. I was .. Say respectful… Or feared God in a way I can not express.. Just a healthy respect knowing these demons are real. Yet I am a child of God. So I fear not.

Did anyone else see a possible “flash” of something while they were trying to exorcise her at the hospital? I kinda want to pirate a copy of the movie to see if I could see it. It was just for a moment (I almost missed it), and it could have just been a trick of the eyes. But, I swear I saw something.

Even though the movie itself was not real; demon possession is very real. I am a deliverance minister (exorcist) whatever you want to call. I havee seen first hand how unnaturally strong demons can be. There was a man that picked up a piano with one hand in the middle prayer. Another account was a girl moving on the floor like a snake and spitting everywhere. This same girl had been released from jail for disturbing a local gym because they where scared of her. The devil and demons are real but the all must submit to the pwoer of Jesus and the holy spirit. When in the midst of a deliverance(exorcism) you can’t have fear. Fear is a gateway for the cast out demon to enter a new person. They called it transferance in the movie. I hope more people left the movie understanding how important it is to have a relationship God, than being “religous”.
I believe the movie was trying to show the public what a possesed individual looks like, the way it was indicated in the movie was you don’t have to go to school to learn about it, all you need is five minutes to see the real thing and you know it exist! Also the message they’re putting out, possesions are very active in Rome ! You would understand why ordained exorcist don’t want to go near it as it results in murder, the demons are powerful and they succeed to destroy! The demon in this movie revealed it’s name, left me concerned as to why the exorcism wasn’t successful !

Yes Analise Micheal is real and has a real story but this movie is not based off of that. The movie The Exorcism of Emily Rose is based of off of that case. The only true events that this was taken from was that yes, Maria Rossi was a real person and she killed her next door neighbor with her friend to help her. She and her friend went around singing about how they killed her neighbor.

Of course, you have to have actors to portray the real people involved. You also have to change the names of the people so people like us will not harass of the surviving families. If you believe in God, you must believe in the Devil. The Vatican will not tell us everything. Look at the Bible. There are missing books that they do not us to read. The History Channel is good channels that show programs about God, Devil, Angels, & Demons. It is only up you to decide. I believe that exorcism is real it is the Bible, if it was done in those times, why not in the present. Only thing I truly know is that I am a child of God & with my God, he knows my faults, weakness, struggles, loves, etc…Faith, as a mustard seed, no harm will not come to me.

People…you need to open your eyes more, the story of these events are based on a true story, and yes we are all wondering weather the film was veritical or not, but in my observation of this film and paying close attention to it..I came to this conclusion..
1) It is another typical story of demonic possesion, just as The emily rose case, and The very first public case known as the Roland Doe case in Maryland where the movie the exorcist got it’s inspiration from.
2) Good Vs. Evil, no matter the circumstances of the story or plot.. the facts remains the same.. The devil waging war on earth against God, and as Satin played the biggest trick on humanity by making humanity believe he wasnt real..NOW, that the end of days is nearing and he thinks he is claiming victory on earth..now he is showing his doing and his power, he knows that the end is near and the sole mission for him is to take as many souls as he can because he knows his damnation and warth of God will be the ultimate punishment and as they say”misery loves company”.
3) The most important message that all these moivies are communicating to the piblic is…FAITH.. The belive in God is what will make it difficult for any evil being to enter your body and also the amount of faith that a person posesses to battle the prince of darkness, havnt you noticed in all the movies that the demon or devil emrges with power out of the self doubt of faith? that he attacks you mentally and once he sees he is gaining the upperhand mentally than physically he puts the damaging touch cus mentally you are defeated..so in closing…YOUR FAITH IN GOD, is the weapon best to use in combatting the devil who as you can see from all these events have waged war on man, his soul, and his belives..God bless you all, and ally your soul to God, for his Soldiers are gearing for the last stand..

That’s true. If you notice Maria had some moments where she was acting out but it wasn’t enough to show she was possessed. It wasn’t until after Ben and David called upon it that it came out. Strange though that it didn’t react when holy water was put on Maria’s forehead or when she was shown the cross, considering any talk of religion or religious items before would send her into a fit. This movie really made me rethink my beliefs. I understand that this movie was based on true events, but everyone that is talking about contortionist and demons are fake, have to be blind or unbelievers. I would love to actually experience a real exorcism.
I did like the movie but it is just that a movie. Exorcisms have been conducted for thousands of years. There is a very good book by Malachi Martin called Hostage to the Devil. The fact Some elements of the exorcisms are similar to the book and events reported by priest’s. The process of deciding to perform an exorcism is usually long and likely no preist would conduct an exorcism that quickly. The process would take weeks at least. Many victims are treated medically for years and years and receive little or no benefit from medicine so if the exorcism works it would seem to follow that there is something to it. A couple things in the movie that I am sure would never have been allowed by an exorcist….a woman who had an abortion would likely not be allow in an exorcism because it is believed that this would be more likely to lead to possession of that person. Why would they move a woman to italy anyway?
Okay, I have seen people be possessed, and let me tell you, this movie may not be based on “real events” but as for the actions, they are true! The pupils actually do dilate, sometimes to where you cannot see the iris, and joints to pop in and out to make people bend in odd positions.
This particular movie obviously isn’t real, it just consists of great acting and a director with a twisted mind. With that said, I don’t believe that demonic possessions aren’t real. You can do all the research you want, but why would the government allow such things to be posted on the internet? They wouldn’t; All of the so called “exorcisms” online are fakes looking for another youtube view. I believe that the government most likely doesn’t allow any of this to come in reach with the public and that there are such things as demonic possessions and exorcisms, they are just undercover. Many people may not believe in god or the devil, but if you really think about it, it is the simplest form of good and evil, which is present in your everyday lives.

A demon had transferred to Michael when Isabella tried to choke him (I think). That is why he was acting the way he was (unbuckling his seatbelt, speeding up the car, etc.).
Into my opinion it dosent matter if the movie is fake or real its entertainment and to the fact that people enjoy watching these types of movies and they have all been coming out recently well at least more than what was made 5 or 6 years ago.My last saying Its a damn movie who gives a shit if its real or not it dosent matter.
This movie was fantastic! Being a horror movie fan my whole life, this was a definite 4 out of 5. The acting was believable, the exorcisms were shocking, and I was down right sucked in from the very beginning. Based on real events? I’d love to read about the real story! The ending, however, was not that amusing. I don’t like how it was so abrupt. The demon passed too quickly from one to the other and they crashed. Yes, it was an open ending, but I personally think that it could have been left open differently. All in all, I want to buy this movie and share it with as many people as possible. Whether people believe in this or not, they need to watch it for amusement. I don’t like how people are saying the whole movie sucked because they hated the ending. Just because the ending wasn’t so great doesn’t mean the whole movie was just as bad. This movie is a definite shocker and is sure to become a new exorcism classic.

I don’t know if this movie was true. Me and my boyfriend looked up maria rossi and it pulled up that her and this other friend were drop out highschool students that were always getting high and etc. and they murdered their next door neighbor. She then started singing her neighbors name that “we killed (neighbors name)” in the wizard of oz song like! My doubts that this movie just made up most parts. I’m not saying that maybe some parts that are true. But most i think was just added.
As far as body movements go, special effects, people. Plus there are contortionists. And I find it common and ironic that there happened to be 4 demons and 4 specific people making the movie. In real life, people don’t run upstairs towards the creepy noises (another common horror movie moment). I liked it though. Props for making me jump a few times. It’s been awhile since a horror has been able to do that.

I think that this whole movie is real , they just had fake names for the actors for privacy reasons. I mean why do you think it ended that way? Maybe its because the documentary was real and not staged. I do believe that this can happen and i am a Christian. I am aware about possesions, they are real and exorcisms have been performed. In one way or another this movie is not staged, it is real, you wouldnt stage something as serious as possesion because it is a serious thing and it can happen. Thats just my opinion and im sticking to it.

People are so confused by the ending. I don’t understand why. I understood it and liked it perfectly. Isabella became possessed in the hospital, and killed one of the other patients in the room. In the crazy hallway scene, her back contorted, and Ben and Michael took her away to get her to a safe place. What Isabella meant by what she said to Ben about how she knew he wanted him dead, she was clearly referring to Ben’s uncle, who Ben said died a while back but he never clearly explained it, and it could hint that Ben killed him, whether it be accident or not isn’t sure. Then Ben gets the demon out of Isabella’s body, but it instantly goes into Michael, and he purposely causes a head-on collision, killing them all.
Isabella was possessed before the hospital, but yeah.

I know this movie was fake but it covered ALOT of issues involving exorcism being overlooked by the Vatican. That is a really scary thought. The last thing I would want is to be forgotten and fall between the cracks while suffering like that.

So I just got home from watching this movie. The movie had some good parts and some bad parts(like the ending)…and to be honest it wasnt scary at all. I do think they stretched the truth to make the movie more interesting…however I do believe in this kinda stuff but like someone already said I dont think people being thrown across the room actually happpens, eventhough its like based off true events and stuff like that. But I still want to know what happens after the car crash,like what happens to Isabella, Mike, and Ben…like did they all die?
I personally believe that the four demons in Maria during the exorcism were all transferred into David. When Isabella was talking to the camera that was simply information she already knew about Michael from when they previously met and from conversations they’ve had. When David shot himself the demons then went from David’s body to Isabella’s body. The reason i believe this is because then in the car ride, right before Michael began acting possessed Isabella calmed down. or went limp. This may suggest that the demons then went from Isabella to Michael. Ben killed his uncle to help relieve him from his suffering because his uncle suffered from cancer. It was also stated that the original Demon in Maria may have been high ranking and had disciples or followers, suggesting one very powerful demon and three lesser demons. Now when Ben asked the demon possessing Isabella what it’s name was in the car, it replied with “you all know who i am” but Michael had no understanding of demons. This suggests that the demon possessing Isabella was none other than the devil himself. and the three disciples were three of the devil’s higher ranked demons, which would explain why it was so powerful.
The movie was wonderful! I believe in exorcisms too, but i want to see more evidence of demonic possessions. Real footage! Any leads? (The whole thing to me is kind of bat-shit crazy.)
Try Anneliese: The Exorcist Tapes. It’s supposedly the true story of Anneliese Michel (the girl who the movie The Exorcism of Emily Rose is based on, I think.). I might be wrong, but I did not see the usual “This story is a work of fiction…and so on. I might have missed it. It’s partially in German with subtitles though, so you have to deal with that but it’s worth it.
If u watch bens movies on the pages- he confesses to the murder of his uncle. But that raises another hugely debatable topic-assisted suicide.
Well I just saw the movie and it was scary. I can honestly say that demonic possessions are real and the movie was based on actual events and it takes someone to have been through it to truly understand. Just know God is more powerful and as long as you have faith in him then he can get you through anything. I know from experience!

Everyone keeps pointing that article out, but it has nothing to do with demonic possession or exorcism. The Maria in the movie killed three priests performing an exorcism on her, and she wasn’t seventeen years old. The girl in the article whose name is also Maria Rossi was seventeen and killed a neighbor next door. Things like that happen all the time, the name is just coincidence. It doesn’t say there were any priests, it doesn’t say she was possessed, the article clearly says she was high on drugs and alcohol. Maybe if you can find an article that states any sort of questioning about her mental state and anything suggesting possession may be believable, but just copying and posting an article with the same name holds no merit.

To all of you who think this was fake/with actors: No s***. They wouldn’t show controversial content like this with the real clips, especially with suicides. It very well may be based off real events, and even filmed to be exactly like them, but they would’ve never used the real content. The police call at the beginning though COULD’VE been real, but not likely, same for the footage at the beginning, but it also could’ve just been edited to make it look a bit more like any actors in the film.
And as for the whole exorcism thing, it’s a battle of will. The instant David broke down (after he was bleeding after talking to his father) was when he started to lose the battle, and the Demon in him took over. After he killed himself, Isabella lost her will because a priest wasn’t even safe, so she gave up and got taken over. And in the end, Michael was just a normal transferal since he already lost hope from watching David drown the baby.
I feel as though many of the people in our theatre (who booed at the screen at the ending) didn’t understand the importance of Isabella’s last words; Ben (the preist) asked the ‘demon’ who it was when the voice from Isabella spoke of his uncle, and she replied saying he knows ‘me’; everyone knows ‘me’ What evil being is known by everyone? SATAN. Hence the name, The Devil Inside!
This was another excellent entry in the horror/fantasy documentary style. Looking forward to the sequel!!!
Just like Lord of the Rings – Middle Earth does not exist, neither does real possession exist…just mental illness. Yet it is fun to be immersed in the alternative reality of this film for 90 minutes.
Demons and devils are human creations…as are gods, just mythological creations to control the masses. So anyone losing sleep over these films is fooling themselves.
Fernanda Andrade, who plays the beautiful Isabella has been on The Mentalist, Sons of Anarchy, Law & Order, CSI…just to name a few.
The idea that this is real footage is quickly destroyed with a quick Google search.

I was not sure if the movie was based on real life events or not, but I DO believe in demonic possession and DO believe in exorcisms. I mean, if there can be little green men from outer space, I KNOW there are demons. Why couldn’t they possess a person?! I have participated in a house exorcism, seances and several other things. I am heading to Rome in a few weeks, hopefully this will mean that I can do a little more research. As a Religion major in college I find this very fascinating and aim to practice all forms of spirituality. I do believe that beings that possessed Maria, was not the Devil and his followers but one of his disciples himself. A second ranked demon, if it was the Devil majority of what happened in the movie wouldnt have occurred.

This movie was a above average low-budget film. Too bad we still have to pay full price at the box office. It was like all the food companies and even the Girl Scouts are doing. Same box less product only 87 minutes of entertainment.
when i was 15 yrs old, i saw a priest become possessed, and slap the heck out of a lady in a wheelchair… than he started screaming at the top of his lungs, saying “unlock us from the chains of hell!!!!” it scared me soooo much, because the only reason i went to church that day, was because my girlfriend and her parents and family invited me to go… so i went to spend more time with my girlfriend…. but ever since that day, and what i saw and heard with my own eyes and ears…. i knew that possession was a real deal, especially when it happened to the priest at that church…. Im from northwest Indiana and every time i pass that church, i always think about that day….. i remember after that day, i couldnt sleep for almost a whole week… very true story…. this happend at St. Marks church in Gary Indiana, located on ridge road…. somewhere in the mid 1990′s….

The most disturbing thought for me is that these things actually happen and folks think it’s funny. So many laughed in the theater. Really? Even though this story was made up for the film there is nothing funny about possessions, they actually happen. Some folks should be home praying right now.
“The devil inside” is all fictional, and of course based on true events because exorcisms are real people, but it’s the truest recount of exorcisms in all of media so far. Compared to the movie “The Exorcist” it topped it with its depictions on how real exorcisms happen.
This movie showed so many activities how the demon shows itself. I truely believe its real because my aunt was part of an exsorcism and of course what required her to become part of it was that she was not allowed to make any pyshical contact with the person who was possessed and she had to be in a strong state of mind were the demon couldn’t contact her for example the daughter kept eye contact with her mother when she was singing to her, that allowed an entry for the demon to get in her in the movie. I might be young be I’ve been fasinated by exsorcisms even though they can be highly dangerous.

Did any body else get a subtext that they were trying to portray to the audience? I thought it was a movie about exorcisms, but I think there was a deeper subtext and message that they were trying to give.
They kept bashing the church for hiding things. Things that harm people. Now, I know this might be stretching it, but maybe they were subtextually speaking about pedophiles and priests who rape young boys? I don’t know. That’s what I got! Maybe I’m crazy and I getting possesed!

If she had 4 demonic beings inside of her and only one came out and got inside of David, it then caused him to commit suicide it then went straight to Isabella once seizing the opportunity to kill them all with one shot it went into Micheal and caused him to change lanes and speed up into oncoming traffic. So where did it go? Who did it jump to? And what about the mother left with the other demons inside of her? wouldn’t she still be possessed?
The four demons from the mother jumped to all of them. The mother was no longer possessed. it jumped to David, Isabella,Ben, and Micheal. The demons just chose to attack at different times. they were all possessed at the end.
I’m pretty sure that at least two were released, because you could tell that Isabella was possessed a) when her mother was singing the Itsy Bitsy Spider, and b) when she was talking about Michael’s mother to the camera.
The other two MAY have jumped into Ben and Michael, but. I don’t really know.
I think if a demon had jumped into Ben he wouldn’t have any, um..holy powers lol. He was able to subdue Isabella in the car, and also Maria in the hospital, but before that the demon inside Isabella taunted him. If he already had a demon inside, I don’t think that would even be necessary. I think Ben was the only one who wasn’t possessed. So if there were four inside Maria (one of which was Satan), I think one stayed in Maria, another went inside of David, one in Michael, and Satan himself in Isabella based on her answer when Ben asked for her name in the car. Just my guess though.

It doesn’t say but I think there is something about the picture Isabella had, the same Maria painted, that has some connection. There’s a video under Isabella Rossi on this page that shows a young Isabella showing her mom a picture. Prior to the picture her mother was cheerful and normal, then after she changed. I don’t know if it is the same picture from the movie, but I wonder why the change when she touched it?

i do believe that this movie was real i mean how could her mom have known what she did with the baby she did have i mean no contortionist could have done that you heard the bones popping when they moved from those positions with a contortionist to would not hear those things. just saying it was worth seeing that movie it was nice to see that this is a true story. for all the nonbelievers i am sorry but if you did not believe what you sew than you should not have gone to see that movie.

The movie was not scarry as mutch as just freaky and made your skin crawl. The scariest part was when they were about to do the exercisim on Maria and the eye monitor showed her eye open and they were not paying attention. That was a good “Jason” moment.

Okay, I want to point this out to everyone complaining about the ending. The movie is based as a documentary. It starts when Michael starts filming. Every single thing you see in this movie is from a camera used in the movie. So the last scene they are in the car, and we have the various cameras mounted in the car to see what is happening. So when the car rolls, Michael dies and the cameras cut out, that is the end. Now if there are plans for a sequel who knows if someone survives (Hopefully David) and continues to film the events, but who’s to say that will happen. They want you to believe this movie was REAL. So they want you to think by Michael, the person filming the documentary, dying.. the movie ends. Get it?
I enjoyed this movie until the ending. What kind of a way is that to end a movie? Right in the height of all the action. And then they tell us to come here and “find out more”. Well i found out that this was all a bunch of bullshit, and it was a good way to spoil what was a pretty good movie up until the end

I really enjoyed this movie. It’s defiantly opened my eyes to the world of demons and possessions and is inspiring me to become an exorcist.
If you think about it, the way the people are possessed shows the true evidence about demons. The people whom are possessed have great strength, speak in multiple languages, hate the bible and priests, and many series of death or other possessions happen with people who are involved in the exorcism. If you are a non believer, why don’t you go see an exorcism yourself? This movie is about true events, and if it weren’t they wouldn’t have dates or evidence of things that happened.
See, in the end there were four demons involved with this incident. It also clearly states that when they preform the exorcism on Bella’s mother.
When the exorcism was “complete”, one demon stayed with the mother, while the other 3 used demonic transfers to go to three other people, which were noticed in this order: the priest (Ben), Bella, and lastly Micheal.
The thing is, there wasn’t only one spirit attacking Ben, Bella and micheal, because before Ben stormed in after he almost killed the infant, Bell was speaking into the camera in a vulgar way, speaking of how micheals mom cheated on his father. At that exact time, Ben was still possessed and which led to him running to his room, cutting his arms, having a seizure like incident, and then shooting himself.
Soon after, Bella was rushed to the hospital in what they thought was a seizure as well, but was nothing but a demonic possession.
Lastly, while trying to rush Bella to the church, micheal began acting odly in the front of the car. While the other priest(his name has slipped my mind) attempted to control Bella, micheal went into possession and crashed the car. (before this, he was rubbing his face, twitching, and then took off his seat belt before the accident.)
So anyone who believes there was a demon jumping, it’s highly unlikely, because there were 4 different people possessed at the same time.
Thought I’m always iffy Bout exorcissms, I do zbeleive in possessions. They make me think, and I enjoy learning about it.

Exorcisms = not fake. This = fake. Do a little bit of research and you can find that there was no real 911 call made.
Movies that are “based on true events” or “based on a true story” are often misleading as the viewers expect a lot or the whole movie to be based on real-life events. In actuality, not even 10% of the movies that state this are factual. This movie in particular is only factual to the point that there is Maria Rossi, whom was a 17 year-old teenager who killed one person and it was based in Connecticut which does sounds similar to what Maria was saying to her daughter “Connect the cuts”…coincidence much?
As for the plot, there are a lot of unresolved questions that need answering in a sequel and/or a prequel like we’ve seen in the Paranormal Activity series. Some of these questions include when Maria disappears when Isabella is a tiny girl. A good sub-plot for a prequel would be the connection to Ben and his uncle(which he supposedly killed) that the demons kept mentioning.

I’m surprised that some viewers actually believe that this kind of thing is real. Do you also believe the ghost stories that are told around camp fires? Goodness gracious, some of you folks are really gullible.
If you got freaked by the film, good! That means the director and actors did their job. But demons (and angels and gods and ‘God’) are figments of our imagination. Can we please move fully into the 21st century, beyond tribal mythologies and religions? Please?

Think about it, if this movies was just actors, and wasn’t based on true events that are still being investigated to this day, why would they make an entire website with bunches of stuff on each person, with the videos, and with the articles from papers and such? Okay, so the movie ended with Michael crashing the car, and all you saw was a bunch of random movements, I’m not entirely sure what happened with those little images they had after the crash, but I do know that the baby that Isabelle killed had disciples, that is why when her mother was possessed, she had four demons inside of her, one went to David, then when that one was killed, when he shot himself, that one immediately went to Isabella, then when she was in the hospital, she had killed her ‘room mate’, then when she was in the car, she must of had two in her after the one David had when into her, cause she was still being all demoniacal, and Michael became demoniacal too. Plus if you don’t think that Maria had four demons inside of her, why did they translate four different parsal tongues? My point is proven.
I very much believe that you can be possessed by demons and I believe that this stuff is real but the movie itself is fake. If this were a real documentary they would not have shown the priest kill himself. Plus if you look it up, she wasnt even possessed. It’s a totally different story. And if the movie were true they would have put pictures or videos of the real people on this site. It was a good movie and storyline though.
How do demons possses you
Just saw the movie. Hollywood did a good job of making it seem as though the movie was actually real. The movie is just that….a movie. The footage is not real. From using professional cameras to using hand held cameras (used to give it the documentary effect) is not real. The so-called events this is based on is not accurate. There is a Maria Rossi, but there is no evidence of any possession. She and her friend killed an elderly neighbor and are currently in jail.
Now to try to answer some questions:
Maria Rossi was always possessed by a demon and three disciples (total 4). She ended up always keeping the main one.
Isabella was always possessed since she was a little girl. The exorcism in the hospital only triggered the demon inside her to awaken and begin to get stronger and overpower her. Remember the video of her singing? She was singing in a different language.
The priest was also possessed by one of the demons (transferred). It was evident that he had been possessed when Isabella goes to him in the kitchen and turns on the lights, she walks off and the priest turns the lights back off and continues to eat. We clearly see this when he tries to kill the baby during his baptism. When he gets back to the house, it is obvious that he has become very weak and the demon has begun to really overpower him.
Before he shoots himself, he says, “Thank you”…that was the demon speaking. As soon as this happens, Isabella goes into her “episode”. Hence, another demon is transferred to her. (So now she has two)
After Isabella goes crazy and tries to kill another patient in the hospital, Michael and Ben take her in the car. Isabella is clearly possessed and fights with Father Ben and eventually tries to grab Michael. When she does this, both have their mouths open, Michael is vulnerable and a demon is transferred into him. Ben is never possessed from what I could gather since he was always strong, but Michael immediately becomes crazy looking like the others and goes head on and crashes.
The film ends to give it the Hollywood effect, of you wanting more and having so many questions unanswered. I, mean, come on, they forgot about Maria Rossi completely after the meeting with the archbishop was denied.
The movie was effectively made. Although it is based on a fictional event, it is however, a movie that depicts what people have stated and written about what occurs in exorcisms they have witnessed or know a about. As in the movie, not all exorcisms are sanctioned by the church (Vatican), but they are performed all over the world by all religions. I am not going to tell you what to believe in or not, but there are things that science can’t always explain and that’s where religion sometimes does come into play. I, for one, do believe in these sorts of things from personal experiences with family. I am not going to sit here and tell you about it to try to convince you to believe. This is something that either you do believe in or you just don’t.
All in all, the way the movie leads you to believe and to speculate made it worth the watch!
The events in the movie were not Exactly what happened. It is based off of real events. but, sadly, these people are actors. Isabella was played by Fernanda Andrade, and her mom was played by Suzan Crowley.

as much as i would love to say that this is real, i must spoil it by saying; it is not.
It is, however, Based off of real events. do not be fooled into thinking this is all a fraud.

I just saw the movie and am unsure of what to believe. there is no doubt in my mind that these exorcisms are real but i am unsure if the nature of these exorcisms and the movie itself is a true story. I don’t really believe that a possession can cause someone to dislocate their bones with ease and cause “super human strength”. Can’t help but believe it’s true…. I’m very interested in all this shit because I believe to have an addiction demon following me around.. Through my research, I’ve been able to find hundreds of unresolved Police cases, similar to this one, and though it seems naive, I believe it all. If you believe in God, you have to believe in the devil. In turn, the demons that follow the devil. Look at any police case where it was obvious that a specific person committed the crime and was found innocent by reason of insanity, and more than half of them have multiple personality disorder. Am I the only one that thinks this is a form of possession?

I do Not believe that the movie is not real (although awsome) but there could be some truth to it. One of the reasons that the movie is fake is the camaras in the car. They would not have stayed in their origanal positions nor would they had been able to have gotten the information from them, and the camaras in the hospital would and, should have been shown in the movie. I believe that not all ‘demons’ are evil. Saying ‘demon’ is like saying n*****. Ghosts or entities are the ‘demons’ of what you speak! Not all entities are evil!!!!!!! But the movie was not Scary AT ALL. & I really wanna know what happened at the end of the movie which got me mad because it just ended with them getting in a crash. The inspiration of the movie, I believe, comes from the classes the Vatican offers in Rome. Although the movie does pitch the idea of “true events” inspiring the movie, I think it was made that way formarketing purposes. It is a great movie, it is a real subject and in the name of The Lord I hope no one reading this will ever have to see wht it is like to deal with a real demonic possession.

In the theater i was at, NO ONE really understood the ending. if you noticed, when Isabella grabbed the drivers face and was then pulled off, The drivers eyes dialated then he took off his seat belt. he PURPOSELY crashed the car. It was not an accident.

I saw the movie last night. It was very scary… Do I know if the footage in the movie was real or fake? No I don’t. But I am a Christian and I believe very strongly in God AND the devil. They ARE real beings. You can argue if you want, but we all have our opinions. Also, my husband’s parents have witnessed demon possession. It is also VERY real. First I have to say that you people who thi I what you watched was “real footage” are idiots. I am sorry but do you really think if we got actual demonic possession on tape we would be watching in a theater so the box office can make money? Please. So like veryone else I just finished looking at this movie, and like most I really enjoyed it. I think it certainly was one of the best scary movies in many decades;this movie blowing everything else out there dealing with suernatural forces out the frame.I don’t believe I saw was real. I think the woman in the basement twisting her body the way she did had to had been a contortionist with training in hiphop (pop and locking techniques) or it all had to have been computer generated. That particular seen was to much a reenactment of the the movie the Exorcist with Lider Blair. In addition a lot of what’s happening reads off like a script where you can reason with what is happeing, or what to expect next. After a while there’s just to many unusual things happening that would have cause the film maker Michael Shaefer to cancel the filming and more so start focusing on his own security cause things ain’t been going right since they all four came back from the hospital working on Maria Rossi. I serious don’t believe in what was final outcome of the character Father David Keane, MD. as well as the other actors…if this is suppose to be the real thing happening. I mean are they all dead cuase by the looks of it they could not survive that disatrous accident.Finally, I think the most powerful, or frigthening part of the movie is what she said to her daughter about the termination of her baby.I know this had to, and is going to scare the the hell out of woman cause there is no way they can undo the decision of killing there unborn child.The thought of knowing what they have done,that it can’t be hidden…and what awaits them was very scary. That was really crazy.

i just sow the movie. and it did rock. i also looked up the murders on line and there real was a women in CT. in 1989 who killed 3 people in her home. what i cant find out is if any one survived the car crash.
Okay, first off, I believe in evil forces in the world, and I believe they can take over people. I’m not a Christian, I’m a Wiccan (please no hate comments). This is obviously fake. The story itself is based off of many actually true events. The real Maria Rossi was nothing more than a teenager who was mad at her neighbor for some ungodly reason and decided to kill her. She had no children, no husband. She WAS NOT possessed. A lot of the “case” itself was based (like a lot of movies based on possession) mostly on the real case of a German woman named Anneliese Micheal. You can search her, you can even hear the tapes of her exorcism online. The argument is whether Anneliese was really possessed or if she was merely schizophrenic. Personally, I believe it could be some form of possession. I speak German, and she is speaking a mixture of inaudible German and Latin, which a schizophrenic could not do. Who knows, there’s some things that cannot be explained. Yes, this movie is based on true events, but there all concocted into this “case”. Sad, really.
The movie is in fact not real, but inspired by Anneliese Michel, a young girl who was believed to be possessed by a demon. She would drink or eat for day and died of dehydration. So the case is that was she really possessed or just mentally ill. The Anneliese Micheal Case inspired movies such as “The Exorcism of Emily Rose” and “The Devil Inside”. The whole reason of this case and the making of these movies is that people just won’t really know or understand that if a person can be possessed or metal, or just making an excuse.

I did watch the movie and believe that people are easily possessed by their own sins. In this movie the only question it really answered for me is why the Church did not pursue these cases. I believe that the Church knew that it wasn’t one demon or the devil that possessed these people. And they knew there was not really anything they could do to help the people. The Church was not wrong to turn them away because there was no demon to defeat.
Each person who became possessed was open to it because of a sin they committed. Abortion, Mercy Killing, Abandonment, Etc.

my father died on march 11 at 11:00 pm from lukemia. two days after his funeral my son and i (my son only being 1 yr old where in the bed fixing to go to sleep. shortly after my son feel asleep a dark figure appeared in my room. i thought it to b outside my window but upon a second look the figure was not only on my window but also on the wall above it. i of coarse paniced… i ran outa the room so scared that i forgot my son was still in his crib moments later he started screaming a scream i had never heard before i ran into the room grabbed him and for an hour or so after the incodent i couldnt wake him no matter what i did he continued to scream uncontrollably… my father loved my son more than anything … so was it my father in the room with us that or was it something else. after the incident occured i had to take my son to the doctor. the doctor diogonosed him with night terrors.. nothing of this sort ever happened before the night the dark figure appeared in my room. was it my father or was it something else. something i think i should add though is that since my father passed away in our home NOONE I MEAN NOONE can spend more than a month in the house…

First of all, this movie is FAKE! Big time. And second, Maria Rossi was possessed by at least 3 demons b/c she passed one to Fr. David and before anything bad happened with him, Isabella was talking about stuff she knew about Michael (which she had no way of knowing) so she was possessed at that point as well and then either she passed her demon onto Michael or there were 2 in her and he got one of them.
There were a few parts of this film making it obviously fake such as when she is driving (right at the beginning) in Rome, her seatbelt is all loose and twisted up… Yes b/c people wear they’re seatbelts that way and the fact that if you sedate a person who is possessed with drugs it does not make a difference to malevolent entity possessing them.
I believe things of this caliber can happen but for all of you who think THIS FILM is real… you’re stupid. It’s NOT REAL! And if something like this was real, they sure as hell wouldn’t be able to show it in theatres and not to mention at the end there are credits that say who played who and the names are not the same.

Chyna I couldn’t agree more with you-you showcase the key portions of human nature and exorcism cases. If you were to add in an Exhibit C you could see that when they were walking around the city the time of the year (December) is Autumnal by nature and these are when exorcisms tend to occur because it is so close to Christmas and present giving. Look at the calm weather, yet alarming faces on the pedestrians as they walk by the group of 4 people, it’s like the faces they had when they were going breakneck speed through the barrel roll!

To all of you saying the movie is a fake: how the hell do you know? Were you there when they filmed it? Did you know the people personally? Did you bear witness to any of the excorcisms they performed? If not then you cannot say for sure that it was fake or not. The reality of a documentary is definitely arguable but this one had the feel of being real. Oh and for the accident at the end, the barrel roll was definitely real. He didn’t hit directly head on, he hit a just the right point to lift the car and send it into said barrel roll. And the seats of the car in the backseat would’ve stopped Ben and Isabella from going through the windshield unlike micheal who we did not see in the car afterwards. All in all this movie has the hugest possibility of being real. And if it’s not real then the people who made the movie were the sickest and most demented ppl alive. But the way they all were contorted isnt something you can fake, and that’s just true fact and anybody who thinks otherwise I challenge you to go ahead and try it and watch as you fail miserably. earlier someone said the head on colision would not have sent them rolling. i reviewed that couldnt find you but here it is. the semi saw them tried to miss and hit them on the left side (semi pov) or the right side (car pov). going breakneck speed no one survived that. they didnt fly out because they were weqring seatbelts, at the last second, ben put seatbelts on himself and isabella. when your rolling you wont fly out if you have one on. ik because that happened to me in wanoka during a sand storm, scary stuff.

The beings portrayed in the film were Gelth. They are a species whose physical forms were destroyed in a great war and they now exist strictly in a gaseous state. In 1869, the Gelth were able to bring their forms to Earth through a rift in space time (think astral projection), where at first they possessed empty corpses of humans. However, by opening the rift wider they were able to inhabit human beings that were still alive, using their bodies like life boats.
The rift has since been closed, but a few Gelth still remain on the Earth. If they leave their human host-bodies they would surely die, hence the massive amounts of resistance to exorcism. They are not demons, however religion can have an alarming effect on the human psyche allowing one the extra mental strength to physically push the invading Gelth out of their body. This ability is inherent in all humans, but if you notice Gelth normally target emotionally or physically weak individuals who are less capable of fighting off their unwelcome guest.

How exactly do you tell schizophrenia from demonic possession? I am pretty sure I have never seen a case of demonic possession on the news so how do you know its real? Obviously the movie isn’t real because you would have heard about it way before the movie came out, am I right? the movies is in a genre called “Found Movies”. its where they try to say that the movies is real or based on a true story. usually the movies are in a documentary style to make it look more real. this movie is fake and shows what can happen with possessions.
It is what it is. A movie, but don’t take abuse. this was well writen movie to immatate real life. notice jow there was no comic relief? Well it’s illegal to put suiside, Death, or any other morbid images on a “public bord” (that are real). Demons aren’t to be tampered with. I personally had a friend who was possessed. He’s never done the whole twisting and contorting, but when we invited a priest to come to his house the kid took a knife, and tried to kill the man.
We then held him down while the priest did his thing. you haven’t had an adrinalin rush untill you’ve been thrown across the room by a kid half your size, and watched him go from a sitting down position to hooked onto the ceiling. That kid was really messed up. After we ripped his finger nails off pulling him from the wooden beam he was holding on to, we manedged to chain him to the wall.
The priest threw holy water on him and finnaly we were able to hold him down. With a cross pinned to his chest by yours turely, the priest exercised the demon from him. Before the priest left he gave us some pamplets for local churches, told us if we ever needed to talk he would be happy.
This movie is as close to real life as your going to get. I don’t think these “ghosts buster” preachers selling there movies about this, and desensitizing people to this phenominon is good at all. However, as a person who has seen this first hand this movie was both frightening and real.

So this is my interpretation of this movie, first of all this is a mockumentary. Dont know what that is, then look it up. Second, The movie was not a waste, it had a good story just a bad ending. Third, this movie tells me how stress can make a person go crazy. Why do I say that? Lets pretend that Maria was crazy and really had D.I.D., then that would mean that shes stressed about knowing that she cant function right and its making her crazy. Same goes for Michael, Isabella, and Father David. Michael was stressing about how his ‘documentary’ wasn’t going right and hes wasting his time. Isabella is stressed about her mom’s condition. and Father David was doing something hes not supposed to do which made him commit suicide.
Now with the scenario of the movie with possession, How come Ben was the only one who didn’t get possessed? What is his past? Well I would like to say that not stressing out help him keep with a positive emotion with what their going through. Lets start by Me saying that negative emotions can make a demon possess a person easily versus a person with a positive emotion. Why? well lets analyze the characters in the movie. Isabella was stressed about her mom being possessed. Michael was stressed because his ‘documentary’ is not what he thought it would be. Father David was doing something illegal that may make him lose his job. And Ben, nothing. Why nothing, because the first time he was faced with a stressful problem, he fought it. I meant when they tried to helped Maria in the hospital and the ‘demon’ said stuff like I know what you did and damn your family, he just kept trying to exorcist the demon. But what about the other three? They didn’t fight it. They were scared of it. And fear is a negative emotion, which made them a perfect target for possession. Three of the four demons inside Maria jumped into Michael, Isabella, and David. Which made them start acting weird after the mental institute scene. It affected Ben first because his negative emotion was powerful than the other too. And it affected Michael last because his negative emotion was not as big as Davids.
Of course this is just one of my interpretation.

I just watched this movie, I was wondering, honestly, is this a real documentary or is it just like the blare witch project, the fourth kind and things like that?
It’s about as real as that guy sitting in your closet waiting for you to fall asleep.

Now with that said, I think the director wanted us to find something that would add to the story by creating this website. Maybe something he wants us to find out? This discussion is for seeing what other people found out about the case, so I’m going to throw out some things I noticed in the movie/website.
Someone already mentioned that in the scene where Isabella is talking to the camera right before David and Michael return that she might be possessed. I thought the same thing due to her eyes looking dilated, and also especially because she knew that Michael’s mother slept with his best friend (I think that’s what who she said it was anyway lol). Going by this movie’s standards for being possessed, only a demon would know something that no one else would know about. There couldn’t be any way that Isabella would know about Michael’s mother considering:
1. That seems like something embarrassing that Michael wouldn’t just tell anyone.
2. Isabella and Michael do not seem close at all.
But what’s more disturbing is if you look at Isabella’s section in this website. We see three videos where she is a little girl. The first showing signs of her mother being possessed. The other two hint that maybe Isabella had also been possessed, which makes things a lot more interesting/creepy lol.
In the first video that hints is one where we see Isabella singing a song. She is singing in a different language, and her mother seems really disturbed by this. She asks her who taught her that song, but Isabella continues singing. The last couple of seconds of the clip was really creepy because I don’t know if that was her mother freaking out, or her mother being possessed. It looks like something is thrown or moving quickly in the camera before it shuts off. Again going by movie standards for possession, Isabella singing in a different language is a sign. Either that or maybe while her mother was possessed she taught it to her. I think maybe she was possessed due to her strange behavior in the next video.
The second video shows Isabella singing “Itsy Bitsy Spider” and moving her hands to the movement. Towards the end of the video as she’s moving her fingers, she stops and stares at them for a second before looking up at the camera. The last few seconds of the video end with her staring into the camera. Creepy. Her eyes are brown and dark so it’s hard to see if they are dilated, but it just seemed like odd behavior for a little girl. If she was possessed as a child, maybe that is why she started moving towards her mother when her mother sang it to her in the movie. She seemed drawn to her mother until Ben (or was it David?) snapped her out of it.
The third video is where Isabella is unpacking and her mother is asking if she remembers the state that they moved to. When Isabella takes a picture out of the moving box, Maria seems to change once she takes the picture. I wonder if it’s the same picture Isabella showed her in the movie. If so there’s something about that picture that triggers her, considering she painted an image that was identical to the picture. Isabella also notes how Maria has moved quickly to the other side of the room. She seems distant and far away when she tells Isabella to go to her room. Her voice then takes on the weird accent we heard in the movie (“I don’t have a daughter.”) except here she seems confrontational and wants Isabella to go to her room.

As for people asking what Ben had done, he has a confession video on his section of the website. He states his uncle had terminal cancer and he assisted to end his suffering.
Also, someone here said they noticed Isabella missing in the car at the end of the movie. I didn’t notice this, but did anyone else?

I saw the movie yesterday (01/09/12). I can’t make up my mind if I believe this movie was based on a true story/actual events. They mentioned in the movie that in Rome there are hundreds of Satanic cults (which includes witches). From a personal experience, witches and demons work together. Me and my family suffered for 25 years until I found someone who helped (had a Roman Catholic Exorcist here and all it did was piss off all the demons here). This stuff is very scary and very true. Jesus our Lord was the first Exorcist and His 1st exorcism was preformed on Mary Magdalene for she was possessed by a legion of demons (she was NOT a prostitute). He then taught His disciples and they taught, etc. But a Priest has to have 100% faith for it to work. Not 99.9% but 100%, and lets face it, we are only humans fighting powerful unseen entities. And I wish people would stop saying it’s the devil or the beast. Satan is locked in the pit of hell and can’t come out … yet. It’s his demons that are lose.

It is correct, exorcisms are real, the fact is if this real girl was real… The lady in this movies was possessed by the devil, and demonic figures. People say it isnt real but explain how all of these peoples trigger words are about religion, if they were “crazy” they would be crazy fully, they wouldn’t be normal and then crazy because of certain words. There are also clues that support exorcisms when they try to heal the people, the priests are attacked and are cursed at.

Alright first things first for those of you that are bringing up God, I have been miffed about this being for a long time and finally came to a few conclusions. God is not an actual being, hes no human, entity, or whatever you would like to call it. God is time. I believe that everyone has their own rights to whichever God they worship, but in all reality we have the same God. As for demons and being possessed, if there are angels and beings of good nature, you better believe that there are beings that are able to counter act those of good. Ive had my problems where I think how can God do this or how can God allow that to happen, its all links in the chain. There is no set plan, as humans we simply roll with whatever is given to us and hope for the best. No wonder demons or other things of possessing qualities can manipulate us, we are weak. We manipulate and use each other for or own benefits. Throughout time and history our kind have only been gettings worst, destroying everything that God has supposedly created for use. I dont blame evil beings for wanting to possess us, we are simple beings, easily controlled, half the time we dont even know it. As for the stories about the 17 year old girl, there are plenty more stories about a Maria Rossi, Im sure there is more than just one woman out there with that name.

The Rossi Files are entirely real the mocumentary however is completly false. Hollywood exagerated the facts of the case and the victim (rossi) was most likely suffering from a mental disorder much like the character from The Exorcist in real life was cured when diagnosed with a medical disorder
I am a psychiatrist and have been involved in a few cases of supposed demonic possesion and none have ever convinced me. Although there is a person I interviewed from Pennsylvania that is rumored to work as an investigator directly for the pope. His name is Rich Spor, he has some very interesting videos and stories.
I believe this movie be considered a documentary since it had to story to it just research on a subject of exorcism. It is real it could happen and this movie just shows what can actually happen if someone close to you was possessed.

typically the way we do it as Muslims is we try to get infromation from the demon whos hunting the victim body to get the answer for some big questions like why the demon is hunting this woman body ? what does the demon wants from her ? in most cases those demons they don’t randomly hunt….However this doesnt work alwayz some demons refuse to respond especially if the victim is hunted by more than one demon and the higher the rank the demon has the harder it gets to cure the victim

I know that the people in the movie were actors, but I believe that this was a reenactment of a documentary that was made. I do believe that demons and spirits exist. I do believe people can be possessed if you mess with things like ouija boards and black magic. I know these weren’t the actual events as they happened, when they happened, but the story is very very true, even if the names were changed, because things like this happen all the time.
Listen, I enjoyed the movie right up until what they call the ‘ending’. I put that in quotation marks because.. Jesus. Talk about anti-climactic. The rest of it was excellent, but the ending fell flat and left me and EVERYONE in the theatre disappointed.

Being of Christian descent I have studied exorcisms for quite some time now and this movie is factually based and the Rossi case is integral in moving forward with demonic possession. A recent study was just conducted by The Vatican overseeing exorcisms and has shown them to be widespread and everywhere, but hard to find.
Research “Exorcisms connected to the Apocalypse” and you will see that with this now being 2012 you will see more cases of them coming forth, I’m not joking, this is real people. I can’t believe that nobody’s getting this, but I think that’s why so many people don’t like the movie. There’s a huge overarching theme about abortion in the film. When Isabella goes to see her mother in the asylum, her mother mentions that she knows she had an abortion even though there was no way for her to know that. This is a -major- plot point.
See, my theory, and why I think that the movie was actually pretty clever after I thought about it more, is that the movie itself was a metaphor for an abortion. It was going just fine, but then it all of a sudden just ends. Everybody watching it wanted to see where it was going to go next, but then the director decide to terminate the movie prematurely.
I haven’t seen anything about this mentioned in any reviews that I’m reading, so maybe nobody else got it, or I’m just making it up, but it makes PERFECT sense. And the entire movie is about demonic possession and exorcism, having something in you that you don’t want and trying to get it out. It’s called The Devil Inside.

It could be based on a woman who lived her whole life as a nun who finally left the church to be a painter, and the church assumed she was possessed because she left. It could be based on a 12 year old named sally who hated grilled cheese. Just remember that when a film says “based on a true story” it means loosely. Did no one realize that Father Ben is in the movie “Scorpion King 2″? Obviously they’re actors, and obviously all the filming is fake. Sure, the story line is probably loosely based on real events, but regardless the entire film is actors and takes. Whoever said “you can’t fake that kind of body contorting” – have you not seen other horror movies? Like “The Exorcism of Emily Rose” for example? It’s obviously not hard to film that sh**.
Of course the movie was for entertainment purposes only and not based on any actual events. Many cultures and religions hold the belief of unseen forces able to take control of the physical body; however, it is my belief that our will to do good and strong faith can easily expel such demons.
I wish someone would independently make a map with geographic locations with color coded dots denoting the dates of exorcism occurrences. I bet it would paint a pretty interesting picture of the lifecycle of a sordid fairy tale.
Alright. I don’t firmly believe in god, however I do believe in spirits and that some are supposedly evil. That brings me to my first point, the priests. Just because you have faith in the lord and you “follow him” and such, doesn’t mean that he can protect you from the devil. You can’t really say that he is supposed to and that he will. There are some comments that I have read earlier in the conversation that state that “God can’t save you” and “God allows shit to happen to you that you can’t even explain”. Blah blah blah. Also, in the movie, one of the priests, Ben, stated in one of his excerpts that he helped his uncles passing due to terminal cancer. Do you think that the reason he helped was due to a possession? Possible. Hmmm. You can tell that the movie alone was fake due to obvious graphic errors, contortionist actresses, and the different sitiations in the movie that don’t add up. Maybe it’s just to me, I’m not sure. Anyway, the events are true. My grandfather was a priest in the 70s and has told me some instances with some exorcisms that has made me mortifyingly interested in demons. In addition, in a section of the movie where she is singing in German (I presume?) is interesting to me because my grandfather has told me a few stories where a few of the possessed victims would sing in either Italian or German. Totally real!! My friend’s cousin totally knew that woman and her family and that teenage girl too. She said it totally happened. The footage is staged, but I heard it’s based on a totally true thing which happened. Word up!!

Ok guys…. This is clearly a film. And only a film. It was picked up and distributed by Paramount. A major motion picture distribution company. And i’m not sure if you noticed, but they’re also the same company that picked up and distributed Paranormal Activity. You guy see any similarities?! Also look at it from this point. It’s very clear that there would be no one in the film left that would be able to Edit, Produce, and Distribute this film. As in none of the characters in the film would be able to edit this film because they’re dead. Sorry guys. It’s called Cinema Verite’. Look it up. Priests can most definitely be possessed. The reason why is because they believe the God will protect them from everything that they get jumped from behind. I’m pagan but I believe in this. Whether the movie is an actual documentary or not is debatable. If any of you want proof why don’t you go to Rome and see if there is an Exorcism class. And then attend an actual exorcism. I dont think this movie is real but the events are… America would not allow videos of real people suffering so bad and killing themselves that would be fuked up. But if you think Maria had “four demons” in her and there just so happened to be four people involved. hi there, I am from williams lake, BC, Canada. and I seen this movie in theatres lastnight, and I was surprised by it. the ending was quite sudden. I was curious as to what happened with the 3 people in the vehcile when it looked like they crashed.

How can you say it was fake,when this actually happens in real life in the world today. I know a friend at church who went to Africa on a mission trip and he actually did some Exocersims and casted out demons in the name of Jesus Christ. I think the movie was so good. The confusion that the movie leaves the viewers with is the best indicator of how good it is. I hope The Devil Inside 2 will come out to continue the story. I just came back from the theater, and I had fun. I`m now interested in reading motr about Maria Rossi and her case.
